Adverse Possession

Editor’s Note:    Mathes v. 99 Hermitage, LLC, No. M2021-00883-COA-R3-CV (Tenn. Ct. App. 2022) reverses a trial judge’s ruling and finds that the appellee’s predecessor in title acquired interest in real property by adverse possession.  The Court of Appeals opinion did not mention the standard of review, but we include this reference because it is one of the few recent opinions that discuss the law of adverse possession.
